As of Winter ’13 the NW Film Center School of Film is teaching Avid Media Composer in all its classes.
What does this mean? The Avid Media Composer is our featured digital editing software for classes and rentals.
Why is it special? Avid Media Composer 6.5 is the current state-of-the-art standard in professional film editing. It is used professionally to edit everything from feature films to commercials.
How can I learn Avid? Our courses range from providing a basic intro to going much more in-depth. You may want to consider the following options: Art of Film I, Documentary Production, Shoot + Edit + Share, and Digital Editing I.
What if I’m a Final Cut or Premier user? We offer $10 workshops each term to demonstrate the Avid interface and show you how the system works.
Value Added: Enroll in one of our multi-session classes and you will qualify to purchase this software for your own personal use at a substantial student discount. Avid purchase is not required for class participation.
